Images of Boston Airport Corporation, Skyways, a Stinson Biplane, a Travel Air and various aircraft.
During the 1920's, Boston Airport Corporation was the largest commercial concern at the cinder-covered East Boston airport. They operated a flight school using Travel Airs and Jennies. Freddy Ames financed the construction of the Boston Airport Corporation hangar and was a prominent aviation figure at the airport. Curtiss-Wright bought the Boston Airport Corporation in 1929.
In 1928, Crocker Snow, Ted Kenyon and Andy Ivanoff incorporated Skyways to compete with Boston Airport Corporation. Skyways' intention was to give lessons, carry passengers and sell airplanes. Skyways had dealerships for Bellanca, Moth and Stearman airplanes.
The two photographs with Crocker Snow show the Skyways staff in front of a Stearman airplane, including linemen Goldie and George Barry, Teddy Kenyon (wife of Ted), Ted Kenyon, Charlie Emerson and Crocker Snow.
